As a society, how do we remember the past, and in what form?
It is not only about the memory of historical events, but the memory of the daily life.
Due to social changes, generations are distanced and yet there are few places where they can share space and experiences. Thus, there is less and less opportunities to transmit the social memory of the community form elders to younger generations.
The role of the social memory in building local identities, promoting social cohesion and inter-generational understanding is to be explored and exploited in the context of active ageing.
